Give app credits for using more app features. This incentivizes users to use your app more, which increases the chance of them seeing the value of your app.
This, plus the free credits, makes them more likely to upgrade to a paid plan and keep using it. After they get the free credits, they will just feel the need to use them (and the premium app account) – it’s like free money after all.
